Hawaii 2012

On the boat to the USS Arizona

Our first night was in Honolulu so we made Pearl Harbor our very first stop.  As always it is very moving to visit.
Pali Overlook-It is usually very very windy here, it wasn't too windy when we were there.

Most people just enjoy the incredible view, but...

my boys had to get the very, very best view.
 Hiking at the Pali Overlook.

We rented a condo on the North Shore and headed out there after the Pali hike.
The number 1 thing Brad wanted to do was to go waterfall jumping, rope swinging.  I know a place in Kauai, but not Oahu, after a little research we decided to hike Waimano Falls.  It's not a long hike but don't let it fool you, the bottom part gets a little steep.

We all jumped, I had to stand up there until my legs started shaking before I would jump, but I have to admit it was pretty fun.  We mostly have videos from here so I will see if I can get them to load.
Jumping seemed to be the theme of the trip, Brent told the boys he backflipped off Waimea Rock at midnight, they couldn't top that but for sure jumping Waimea Rock was on the list too!  Here's Kyle and Brad getting ready to jump.
 Swimming at Waimea Bay

 Catamaran snorkeling trip

We bought an underwater camera before we left, good investment!  The snorkeling trip was a lot of fun.

We cruised past the Black Pearl, that's really her!

The one thing I really wanted to do on this trip was stand up paddle boarding, I was also up for a surf lesson but the boys have promised to take me to Old Man's and teach me to surf.
The boys are getting ready to go surfing, the waves weren't so great, but they had a good time.
They should have gone stand up paddle boarding with us (yep we really did stand up!!).  It was fun and something I look forward to doing again.

 Shaved ice at Matsumoto's

We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center
The village of Samoa was everyone's favorite show, this guy was very funny.

We took the tram tour of Laie
Brenny look what we found!

 Dole Pineapple Plantation

Plate lunch at the Rainbow Drive-In and then it was time to return the car, and come home!
