Red, Yellow, Green or Purple

Getting ready at our hotel in Cambridge--In Massaachusetts you have to apply for your wedding license and then pick it up three days, later, well, that would be the morning of the wedding, the city offices in Cambridge opened at 8:30 am, Kev was supposed to be at the temple at 9:00, the wedding was scheduled for 10:00 am. The offices are 4 miles from our hotel, piece of cake right!
"I don't care what color that light is, I'm going through it" After countless wrong turns (yes gps directed!) Near misses with pedestrians, construction detours, Chinese fire drills with Dad, we arrived at the Cambridge city offices for Kev to collect his marriage license. They couldn't find his license because it was filed under party A (Ally) not party B (Kev). I'm not sure Kev knew what party he was, just what party he should have already been at. By this time we are at least a half hour late, and he has amassed double digit traffic violations. Back out of the city offices he switches driving with dad (again) in the middle of the intersection (again) and thinks we can figure out the way to the temple.
To be continued--blogger won't load my pictures.

Finally arrived with brothers, at the temple.

Ally was already there wondering where her groom was! It was a beautiful day in Boston, the day before it had rained, but the wedding day was beautiful, the temple grounds were gorgeous. Finally everyone was assembled, the wedding was lovely.

Yay! It's a done deal, Ally and Kevin Wright.

We are all jumping for joy, welcome to the crazy Wright family Ally!

Kev and his best man Andrew, the little brothers thought it would be a great idea to post this picture on FB with the caption "a Massachusetts wedding"

A beautiful day, a beautiful bride!

Kev is showing me his ring, it was his great grandpa Wright's wedding ring.

Vans, pink, green and white.

"Maine? California? This guy!" Yep this guy made it all happen!

Another week in the Phnom Pehn Cambodia Mission

Elder Brent Wright and his companion Elder Chea
So I asked Brent if this picture was taken in front of his apartments, he has mentioned that their apartment is very nice, probably nicer than the apartments the elders here live in. Here is his reply:

Hahaha, no that's in front of our church. The front of our apartment has a big wall with barbed wire on it and graffiti in Khmer that says, "No peeing on this wall", yet every morning there is at least someone peeing on it......

and the weekly update:

So this week was a really rough week for our area.
They just opened a new branch that took members from our area and also took almost all our progressing investigators. Our church attendence went from 100 people to 50 and all of our member help is gone. So the area right now is very, very hard but other than that I am doing ok. I had quite a few rough days this week but yesterday was good and today is p day so I am happy. I have started teaching English four times a week and that is surprisingly difficult. It's kinda fun though for them to speak my language and for me to be allowed to speak English to them.. even though most of them don't understand. The first lesson I taught was so hard though I kept tripping up on my words and using bad grammar, it was hard to speak English when I am so used to speaking Khmer with them... I made a few new pairs of pants here which are way sweet only costs me 9 bucks to have a customed tailored pair of pants its sweet they look nice.... other than that nothing new for this week. I am sorry to hear Grammy fell, tell her I love her and will be praying for her recovery. Also sorry to hear grandpa's health is down I hope he recovers.... sounds very, very busy with all the wedding prep send me pics of everything I want to see the doors you are painting and what is going on with the pool. Love you all and miss you,
Elder Wright

Hey Other Wright Family---

Ok, a new post, just for the "other" Wright family. So good to talk to you guys and I promise to get a new charger for the camera and put some more posts on here. We've had such a great week, Brian and Sarah, Kerri and Kendall and the boys have been here, I love a busy, crazy house, lots of activity and lots of people for dinner! Kyle and Kael got to go to Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland for the first time, they're at the perfect age to have a great time. Here's a few pictures.
The boys love Angry Birds!
We made pigs and angry birds, we stacked paper cups to make a castle and used a rubber band to shoot the birds.

U of R fireworks, the boys loved it. Kael said, "I'm going to take my kids to this someday." "This is so beautiful!" Kyle J said, "Ooooh 3D fireworks!" It really was one of the best years.
Hiking at Valley of Fire on the way to Grandma's
Vegas!
Mmmmmmm, M&M factory!
Well not much else is happening, the boys are racing and I haven't been taking the pictures (remember battery charger) but it's ok, race pictures start looking all the same. They've been doing an upgrade series.

Good Week

Hey family, so this week was a pretty good week! Elder Chea and I are doing some serious work here in 8th branch and are really starting to see some improvement.
We taught 46 lessons this week and got five new investigators so the Lord is really blessing us with lots of work, there are still lots of challenges but I don't really expect that to change, I had to translate from Khmer to English in church this sunday which was way hard because I understand but then trying to understand and then keep up with translating is so hard... then I had to give a priesthood blessing this week to which was super hard to try to say what i wanted in khmer but I got through it....

Brad can read Khmae

Brad translated the sign for us, he said it says, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". Brad says he is a Khmae superstar----what do you think Brent? Brent had a baptism this week, his name is Bandit, that's the closest Brent could come to an English translation. Khmae is read left to right, top to bottom like English but there are no spaces between words. It has the longest alphabet of any language.
Note from Brent: That was my first time actually doing the baptism but so far three of my investigators have gotten baptized and tell Brad he is a genius but he is wrong it actually says the religion of jesus christ of saints of the last days, but hey you were close.

Oh what do you do in the summertime?

Well since summertime is limited this year it's going to be gone before we've had a chance to do anything! School starts August 10, can you believe that, August 10. We are enjoying summer evenings with no homework, yay! Well, we'll enjoy while we can, Kyle starts second semester summer school (health, wasn't he supposed to do that freshman year?).
Bri is here (LA and Orange County) for his internship, he got to spend last weekend with us before going to LA for orientation, after next weekend he will be in Irvine for the summer and Sarah will be here soon. Kerri and Kendall are coming for the fourth so I think it's U of R fireworks for us this year, we haven't done that in a few years.
Kyle and Brad are racing every other Tuesday night in a points series, so far so good. First race Kyle was third, Brad second, last night Kyle was first! I know I've got to get the camera out and get some pictures on here!
We've got our trip to NYC, Boston and Maine partially planned, a few more reservations to make and it should be good! Hurray. We actually don't get back from Maine till after school starts so we're stealing a few extra days of summer.

More adventures on a bike....

"Let the rainy season begin...the city flooded this week and our entire crank was under water and so we peddled under water it was kinda cool but the water was nasty so not cool at the same time."
Who says missionaries only wear boring white shirts and dark suits, I think polka dots suits them well!

This little guy's family are members of the church.

Prom!

Tarun, Riley, Mike and Kyle
I was surprised--no tuxes this year, that's ok, I'm just as happy to get him a new suit that will be way more useful than a tux!
Very cute!

Skype Success!

Probably should say semi-success, we weren't able to add anyone to the call without losing Brent, but the Brent to home connection was great! Why haven't we Skyped before? Saturday we had fun with a group call, Kerri and the boys, and Bri, later Kev. It was so fun to get to see Brent's face our conversation with him was hilarious hearing about the perils of an Elder who can't speak Khmae, I keep telling him one day he'll wake up and it will just be there, he will speak fluently, he vehemently disagrees, "mom you have no idea!" I love and miss my Brenny, we are so proud of you son.

Kerri's Mother's Day

Look what Ker got for Mother's Day, but far better than the flowers is this picture, I love those two!

Barrio Logan

Kyle, Duban and Brady
Brad and Duban

See the orange, Brad had to bunny hop it in a few of his laps, fun to watch.

Kyle's finish, see the last photo that the race officials took.

Jarbs, Duban, Brady, Kyle, Riley and Brad
The boys had a great day of racing yesterday at Barrio Logan, the weather cooperated and wasn't too hot. Check out this picture of Kyle's photo finish. They posted the picture with the results and were nice enough to send me a copy of it. That's Kyle at the top throwing his bike across the line.

Oh Paula!

Dear Paula,
I just love you to death. You and my mom are two of the greatest cooks I know, and yep it's the butter for sure! Tonight I had to make your dessert tortilla cause I just bought a zillion tortillas yesterday. I would take a picture of it, but then I would have to put it all together with the ice cream and then I would have to eat it so the ice cream wouldn't melt. If I could talk the boys into eating another one I will take a picture. This is Paula's recipe for an easy, evil dessert:

Butter a tortilla, layer with a sliced banana, chocolate chips, brown sugar and cinnamon. Start to grill, butter top tortilla, sprinkle with brown sugar (on the top side you just buttered) so you'll have crispy carmelized brown sugar when you cook this side. Top with ice cream, and carmel syrup.

I cut the tortilla into fourths, it was plenty 'cause it's very rich. Some whipped cream on top sounds really good too. It reminds me of deep fried ice cream. Next, how about some bacon wrapped breadsticks.
I think I need to unfollow, detweet, Paula I don't think I've every seen her make anything that I don't want to try.
